6542 Hydrostatic Water Depth and Temperature Probe
The Model 6542 Hydrostatic Water Depth and Temperature Probes provide accurate long term measurements of water depths of 1m to 20m in standard ranges, with an accuracy of 0.2% full scale, and water temperature from 0 to 60°C.The 6542 is fully sealed and temperature compensated.
Outputs are available digitally via SDI-12 and HSIO signals , or as analog voltages (similar to 6508).
The 6542 uses the same digitally corrected pressure sensor type as the Model 8007WDP Digital Water Level Recorder. It is housed in a rugged stainless steel casing, with a Delrin nose-cone.The internal temperature transducer is the same type as the Model 6507A Red Thermistor and is supplied with a 15k reference resistor.
An integral cable contains a vent tube for barometric compensation and a Kevlar™ support member for longitudinal stability. The cable‘s individual signal wires are epoxy sealed into the casing to protect against water ingress.
This probe is ideal for monitoring drainage, bore depth and river height. It can also be used to measure water with dissolved solids and other liquids. Consult your Unidata representative for details on the effects of a liquid on the 6542 instrument.
